Sorotan
Goxel is a 3D voxel editor written by Guillaume Chereau. Models are assembled from cubic cells placed on a regular lattice, rather than from polygon meshes edited vertex by vertex, so the unit of work is a filled or empty cell with a colour attached to it.
Editing happens in a three-dimensional viewport where cells are added, removed and recoloured directly on the grid. Because geometry is quantised, curved and organic shapes appear as stepped surfaces instead of smooth ones, and the level of detail available depends on the grid resolution chosen rather than on the number of control points. This makes the program a fit for small block-built subjects such as sprites, props, characters and isometric scenery, and a poor fit for work that needs continuous surfaces.
Goxel is released under GPL-3.0-only, so the source can be studied, modified and redistributed under those terms. This record covers a Linux platform only; file format and export details are described in the project's own documentation.
