a-rithist is an Android application for studying Scottish Gaelic. The name is the Gaelic word for "again", which describes the method: material is presented and then presented once more, so that vocabulary and phrasing are met repeatedly rather than only once. The app is aimed at learners who want drill practice in a language with comparatively few digital study tools.

The application runs on Android only; there is no desktop or iOS build. It is published by Zoe under the AGPL-3.0-only licence, which means the source code is available and derivative works distributed to users must be offered under the same terms.

Because the app focuses on repetition, it suits learners who already have some grounding in Gaelic orthography and pronunciation, or who are using it alongside a course, grammar, or teacher rather than as a sole introduction to the language.
