ActivityWatch records how time is spent on a device and presents the record for review. On Android, it logs which application is in the foreground and for how long, building a timeline of usage that can be broken down by application and by period. The data is kept on the device rather than being collected by a central service.
The Android application is one client in a wider ActivityWatch project, whose components report to a local server that stores the collected events. This means the Android client can act on its own or feed into a shared history alongside watchers running elsewhere, depending on how the user chooses to set it up.
The publisher is the ActivityWatch project and the license is MPL-2.0. This listing covers the Android application only. As with any usage tracker, the record it produces reflects only the periods during which the application was permitted to run and collect events.
