C* Music Player, commonly known as cmus, is a text-based audio player designed for the Linux terminal. It utilizes a ncurses-based interface to allow users to navigate through music libraries, create playlists, and control playback using keyboard shortcuts. The application supports a wide range of audio formats, including Ogg Vorbis, MP3, FLAC, and WAV, and handles large music collections by indexing files into a local database for rapid searching and sorting.

The player is structured into multiple views, such as a library view, a playlist view, and a file browser, which users can toggle between to manage their audio files. It includes features for gapless playback, replay gain, and customizable key bindings.
