About this application
Aard 2 is an offline dictionary reader for Android. Dictionary content is held in local files on the device, so lookups are performed without a network connection once the material has been added. The application itself supplies the lookup and display interface; the dictionary volumes are obtained separately.
This separation is worth noting before installation: a fresh install contains the reader but no vocabulary, and the user must add dictionary files of their own before searching returns results. Suitable uses include reference work while travelling, in classrooms, or in any setting where connectivity is unreliable or undesirable.
Aard 2 is distributed under version 3 of the GNU General Public License, without the "or later" option, so the source may be studied, modified, and redistributed under those specific terms. It is published for Android; other platforms are not covered here.
