GElectrical

GElectrical is a program for the design and analysis of electrical distribution networks, published by Manu Varkey under the GPL-3.0 licence. It addresses the engineering side of distribution work: representing a network of supply points, conductors and connected equipment, and then examining how that arrangement behaves, rather than serving as a general-purpose drawing package.

The audience is narrow by nature. An electrical designer or consultant preparing distribution layouts and the calculations that accompany them is the likely user; the program is not a substitute for a broad CAD tool or for office software. Only Linux is recorded as a supported platform, so this is not an option for a Windows or macOS workstation without some other arrangement.
