Francis is a time tracking utility for the Linux desktop, released by the KDE Community with Felipe Kinoshita as author. Its scope is narrow: start a count, let it run while you work on a task, and read off how long the interval lasted. Timing is done while the work happens rather than reconstructed from memory at the end of the day.
As a KDE application it follows the conventions of that desktop, presenting a small single-window interface intended to sit beside whatever else is open.
