Sorotan

guitarix is a virtual amplification program for electric guitar and other instrument signals on Linux. It takes a live input signal through JACK, passes it through a modelled amplification chain, and returns the processed result to JACK outputs, so it sits in a routing graph alongside recorders, other processors and monitoring paths rather than working as a standalone recorder.

Processing is arranged as a chain: an amplifier stage with its own gain and tone controls, cabinet and tone shaping, and a rack of additional effect units that can be added, reordered and switched on or off. Parameter settings can be stored and recalled as presets, which makes it possible to move between sounds during a session without rebuilding the chain by hand.

Because the program depends on JACK for audio transport, it needs a working JACK setup and a low-latency audio configuration to be usable for live playing. It is distributed for Linux under GPL-2.0-or-later by the Guitarix developers.
