要点
- Computes message digests and checksums for a selected file through a graphical window.
- Several digest algorithms can be enabled at once, each result shown on its own line.
- An input field allows a digest from another source to be compared with the computed value.
- Distributed under GPL-2.0-or-later by Tristan Heaven.
- Packaged for Linux desktops only.
关于此应用
GtkHash is a graphical utility for computing message digests and checksums of files. A file is chosen in the main window, one or more digest algorithms are enabled, and the computed hexadecimal values are listed next to the name of each algorithm. A separate field accepts a digest obtained from somewhere else, so a published value can be pasted in and compared against the computed one instead of being read across the screen character by character.
The program is written by Tristan Heaven and distributed under GPL-2.0-or-later. The listing here covers Linux only, so people working on other operating systems will need a different tool for the same job.
Its scope is deliberately narrow: it takes a file, applies the selected digest functions, and reports the results. What a matching or non-matching digest means in a given situation is left entirely to the person doing the comparison.
