Activity Trace is an Android application that searches material recorded on the device itself. It draws on three sources: notifications delivered to the device, information exposed through the Android accessibility service, and files in local storage. The results are queried on-device rather than through a remote service.
Because it reads notifications and uses the accessibility service, the application depends on permissions that Android requires the user to grant explicitly in system settings; without them the corresponding source contributes nothing to a search. The scope of what can be found is therefore bounded by which sources have been enabled and by how long the device has been recording.
It is published by David Neurieder under the GPL-3.0-only license and targets Android alone. Users considering it should note that reading notifications and accessibility data covers a broad slice of on-screen activity, which is worth weighing against the search capability it provides.
