Об этом приложении

LinuxDC++ is a file-sharing client designed for the Direct Connect peer-to-peer network. It enables users to connect to multiple hubs simultaneously, search for files across connected peers, and download data directly from other participants. The program provides a text-based chat interface alongside transfer management windows, allowing users to communicate within hubs while monitoring ongoing uploads and downloads. Written in C++ using the GTK+ toolkit, it is built to operate within Linux desktop environments.

The interface presents a traditional client layout with segmented tabs for hub lists, public searches, and private messaging. Users can define shared directories on their local storage to contribute files to the network while regulating bandwidth usage for transfers. The application relies entirely on the decentralized architecture of the Direct Connect protocol, meaning its functionality depends on the availability of public and private hubs maintained by the network community.
