Open, modify and create compressed archive files
Часть этой страницы показана на языке оригинала, потому что перевод не закончен.
File Roller is the archive manager that ships with the GNOME desktop. It does not compress anything itself; it drives command-line tools already installed on the system, which is why the list of formats it handles depends on which of those tools are present.
Double-clicking an archive opens a window listing what is inside, and files can be dragged out to a folder or dragged in to be added. Extraction can target the whole archive or just the selected entries. When creating an archive you pick the format and, where the format supports it, a password and a volume size for splitting.
Because it is part of GNOME it is integrated with the Files browser, so the usual right-click entries for compressing a selection or extracting here go through it.
