BeatBridge

BeatBridge is an Android utility that reacts to Bluetooth audio connections. When a paired device such as a car stereo, a pair of headphones, or a portable speaker comes online, the app starts music playback without further input, so the step of unlocking the phone and reaching for a player is removed from the routine.

The behaviour is tied to Bluetooth connection events rather than to a schedule or a location, which makes the app most relevant to people who repeat the same handoff several times a day: entering a vehicle, sitting down at a desk with a speaker, or putting on headphones. Because it works alongside an existing music player rather than replacing one, the app is a small piece of automation instead of a media library.

BeatBridge is published by Brandon Presley under the GPL-3.0-only licence, and is released for Android only. There is no desktop or iOS counterpart, so the workflow it supports exists on the phone or tablet where it is installed.
