Hegelmote

Hegelmote is a remote control client for Hegel amplifiers. Rather than operating the unit by hand, it sends control commands to the amplifier from a computer on the same network, which suits installations where the hardware sits out of reach in a cabinet, or where amplifier state needs to be changed from the desktop instead of from the device itself.

The scope is narrow by design. The software addresses one family of audio hardware, so it is of practical use only to owners of a compatible Hegel unit; it is not a general-purpose controller for arbitrary amplifiers or receivers, and it does not replace the amplifier's own firmware or its physical controls. Exact model coverage, connection requirements and the available command set are matters for the upstream project's own documentation.
