Baluchon

Baluchon is an Android application for keeping track of expenses shared among a group of people, with travel as the intended setting. The basic pattern is the familiar one for this category: participants record what they paid for, and the app works out how the totals divide across the group so it is clear who is behind and who is ahead by the end of a trip.

It is meant for the situation where several people spend on each other's behalf over days or weeks — accommodation paid by one person, meals by another, transport split unevenly — and nobody wants to reconstruct it from receipts afterwards. Keeping the record on a phone during the trip replaces the shared notebook or spreadsheet.

Baluchon is distributed under GPL-3.0-or-later, so modifications must remain under a compatible license. Android is the only platform listed, which means every participant who wants to enter expenses directly would need an Android device.
