AudioAnchor

AudioAnchor is an audio player for Android built around the fact that long recordings are listened to in pieces. Instead of treating every file as a one-off, it keeps a record of how far you have got through each audiobook or podcast episode, so playback continues from the stored position rather than starting over.

The material it is shaped for is spoken word: chapters of a book, episodes of a series, recorded talks. That focus turns the interface into a library of titles and their listening state, closer to a bookshelf than to a music playlist.

It runs on Android only; there is no desktop or other platform build. The source is released under GPL-3.0-only, which keeps modified and redistributed copies under the same licence.
