Acho

Acho is an Android client for the Acho Chat service, built as a WebView wrapper. Rather than reimplementing the chat protocol, it loads the existing web interface inside a system WebView and presents it as a standalone application, so the conversation view, message composition and account handling come from the web service itself.

The consequence is a small application whose behaviour follows whatever the hosted interface provides at the time. Features appear and change with the service rather than with the application, and an internet connection is required for anything to be displayed. Users who want offline access to message history, or native Android notification behaviour independent of the web layer, should check what the project itself claims to support before relying on it.

Acho is published by Jorgecobos14 under the MIT licence and is distributed for Android. There is no desktop client; on other platforms the underlying service would be reached through an ordinary browser.
