About this application

qBittorrent is a BitTorrent client built with Qt on top of the libtorrent library. The layout is conventional — a torrent list with tabs underneath for peers, trackers, files and speed graphs — and torrents can be grouped into categories and tagged so the list stays filterable as it grows.

A search box queries torrent indexing sites through installable plugins and shows the results inside the program, so downloads start without opening a browser. An RSS reader subscribes to feeds and applies download rules that match on title, category and episode numbering. A separate tool builds torrent files from local content and can start seeding immediately.

Transfer behaviour is adjustable in detail: sequential downloading, first and last piece priority, per-torrent and global rate limits, a scheduler that switches to alternate limits during chosen hours, IP filtering from a blocklist file, and the distributed hash table, peer exchange and local peer discovery. A web interface with its own login drives the client from another machine, and a headless build runs on servers without a desktop.
