About this application
MComix is an image viewer tailored for reading comic books, manga, and sequential art collections stored in standard archive formats such as CBZ, CBR, and CBT, as well as regular directories of image files. The application opens archives directly without requiring preliminary manual extraction, rendering pages sequentially with options for continuous scrolling, double-page spreads, and automatic fit adjustments. Users can organize their reading materials using integrated bookmarking features and navigate large collections via thumbnail sidebars.
Designed primarily for Linux desktop environments, the software includes configurable reading directions for left-to-right or right-to-left languages, basic image enhancement filters, and thumbnail caching to speed up directory browsing. It processes standard raster image formats including JPEG, PNG, GIF, and TIFF, providing a dedicated environment for viewing sequential image collections.
