About this application
ksnip is a Qt screenshot utility for taking captures and marking them up before they are saved or shared. It can grab the full screen, a single monitor, the active window, the window under the cursor, or a rectangular region drawn by hand, and it supports a capture delay so that menus and tooltips stay open while the shot is taken.
Captures open in an editor with annotation tools: pen and marker for freehand drawing, arrows, rectangles and ellipses, text boxes, a numbering stamp for step-by-step instructions, and blur or pixelate regions for hiding names, addresses and other details before an image leaves the machine. Several captures can be kept open at once in tabs.
Finished images can be written to disk, copied to the clipboard, or handed to an external command, and an upload target can be configured for posting to an image host. Global keyboard shortcuts can be bound so that a capture starts without opening the main window first.
