About this application

Jellyfin Server is a media streaming system for Linux. It organizes media files on a server and makes them available to compatible Jellyfin clients over a network. A user can keep video, music, and other media in a central library, then access that library from devices running client applications or from interfaces that support Jellyfin playback.

The server component is the part that indexes libraries, manages metadata, and provides streaming sessions to clients. It is not itself a general-purpose desktop player; it is meant to run as the service behind the media collection. Jellyfin Server is published by the Jellyfin project under the GPL-2.0-or-later license.
