About this application
Jellyfin MPV Shim is a Linux client for use with a Jellyfin Media Server. It acts as a cast target rather than a full media library browser: playback is selected from another Jellyfin interface, then sent to the shim for local viewing through MPV. This arrangement is useful when a desktop or media computer is attached to a display and should receive playback commands from a phone, web browser, or other Jellyfin controller.
The program is published by Izzie Walton under the GPL-3.0 license. Its role is narrow: it depends on an existing Jellyfin server and on another client to choose media. It is intended for users who want MPV-based playback on Linux while keeping library navigation and remote control in the Jellyfin ecosystem.
