About this application
hugin assembles several overlapping photographs into one wider image. A project file records each source photo, its lens parameters, and the control points that tie overlapping frames together; from these the program solves for camera orientation and distortion, then reprojects and blends the frames into a single panorama.
Beyond stitching, the toolset handles lens calibration, correction of barrel distortion and vignetting, horizon straightening, choice of output projection such as rectilinear, cylindrical or equirectangular, and exposure matching between frames. Control points can be placed by hand or detected automatically, and an assistant chains the usual steps for straightforward cases while the individual tabs stay available for manual adjustment.
The graphical interface sits on top of a set of separate command-line programs, so batch processing and scripted stitching are possible without opening the interface. This entry covers the Linux build, published by the Hugin Developers under GPL-2.0-or-later.
