About this application

Dialect is a Linux application for translating text between languages. It presents a set of translation services in one interface, so the user can enter text, choose source and target languages, and compare results without moving between separate websites or tools. The program is aimed at everyday translation tasks rather than document processing, so the focus is on short passages, individual phrases, and quick lookup.

Because it is limited to Linux, it fits desktop use on that platform only. The application centers on language selection and text entry, with the result shown in the same workflow. Its role is that of a translation client, not a language learning suite or a document editor.
