DavMail

DavMail is a gateway application that enables the use of standard email and calendar clients with Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 services. It functions by translating Exchange Web Services (EWS) or Outlook Web Access (OWA) protocols into standard protocols such as IMAP, SMTP, CalDAV, CardDAV, and LDAP. This allows users to access their corporate email, calendar, and contact information using their preferred open-source or cross-platform client software instead of relying on proprietary web interfaces or specific desktop applications. The software runs as a local service, acting as a bridge between the client application and the remote server. It is written in Java and is compatible with various Linux distributions, requiring a Java Runtime Environment to execute. It does not replace the server-side infrastructure but facilitates interoperability for client-side software.
