About this application

Cryptomator is a Linux application for encrypting files before they are placed in cloud storage. It works with a local vault model: files are opened in a vault, encrypted on the device, and then synchronized through the storage service as ciphertext rather than as plain documents.

This keeps the encryption step separate from the cloud provider and from the local file manager. The program is aimed at users who want to protect selected folders while still using ordinary cloud syncing tools on Linux.
