About this application

BeeCount Knitting Counter is an Android app that keeps track of rows while knitting. It replaces the paper tally, the clicker, or the mental arithmetic that a pattern normally demands, giving a running count that can be advanced as each row is finished and corrected when a row has to be undone.

The app addresses a narrow task, which is its usefulness: a knitter working through a repeat needs to know where they are in the sequence, not to manage a project database. Counting on a phone means the tally survives putting the work down mid-project, and the screen can be checked without losing the place in a written pattern. It suits sock heels, sleeve increases, colourwork repeats, and any other section where the row number carries meaning.

BeeCount is published by knirirr under the Apache-2.0 licence and is available for Android. Anyone working from a desktop or a printed chart will still need the phone at hand, since the counter lives on the mobile device.
