About this application
Badreads is an Android application for keeping a personal record of books. The user logs titles they own, are reading, or have finished, building a list that lives on the phone rather than in an account on a commercial reading platform.
Rather than requiring every field to be typed in by hand, the app looks up book details at OpenLibrary, the open bibliographic database, so an entry can be filled from an existing catalogue record. This makes adding a book a matter of finding it and confirming rather than transcribing author, title, and edition information.
Badreads is licensed under GPL-3.0-only and is published for Android. Since the catalogue side depends on OpenLibrary, books absent from that database will need to be entered manually, and lookups require a network connection.
