About this application
Backup (Privacy Friendly) is an Android companion application for the Privacy Friendly Apps series published by SECUSO. Its function is to collect the data those applications hold and to write it back when needed, which is the situation that arises when a device is replaced, reset, or an app is reinstalled and its history would otherwise be gone.
The scope is the thing to establish before installing it. This is not a general-purpose device backup tool: applications outside the Privacy Friendly collection are outside its remit, so its usefulness scales with how many of those apps are actually in use. For someone running several of them, it centralises the archive and restore step that each app would otherwise have to handle alone.
SECUSO - Security Usability Society publishes it under the GPL-3.0-or-later licence, meaning derivative versions carry the same terms. Android is the only supported platform.
