Audio Output Switcher

Audio Output Switcher adds a Quick Settings tile to Android for changing where sound is routed. Pulling down the notification shade and tapping the tile lets the user move playback between available output devices — for example from the phone speaker to a connected headset — without walking through the system settings screens each time.

The value is in the number of taps saved rather than in any new audio capability. It is a shortcut layered over routing that Android already performs, useful for anyone who switches outputs many times a day: alternating between speakers and headphones while working, or handing audio to a car system and back again. The set of destinations offered depends on what the device currently has available.

WA Systems publishes it under the MIT licence, one of the more permissive terms in common use. The app targets Android only, and because it works through the Quick Settings mechanism it requires an Android version that supports user-added tiles, with the tile placed into the shade by the user after installation.
