Atmo Engine

Atmo Engine is a live wallpaper application for Android. It renders animated backgrounds on the home and lock screens through several distinct modes: Atmosphere, which produces ambient moving scenes; Glass, built around translucent and refractive surfaces; and Canvas Sketch, which takes a drawn approach to the rendered image.

Wallpapers can be arranged into playlists, so the background rotates through a chosen sequence rather than staying fixed on one design. That makes the application a small library of animated scenes with a scheduler over it, rather than a single wallpaper with settings.

Because it draws continuously, the usual trade-offs of animated wallpapers apply: rendering work continues while the wallpaper is visible, which has a bearing on battery use. Atmo Engine is licensed under MIT and is available for Android only, with no version for other platforms.
