About this application
Aria2App is an Android front end for aria2, the command-line download utility. It talks to an aria2 instance over that program's RPC interface, which means the application handles the interface work — adding transfers, watching progress, pausing, resuming, removing — while aria2 itself does the fetching. The instance may run elsewhere on the network, on a server or a home machine, or on the device itself through the companion Aria2Android package.
Because it inherits whatever the connected aria2 build supports, the range of transfers is set by the daemon rather than by the app: HTTP and FTP downloads, Metalink, and BitTorrent are all part of aria2's own feature set.
The publisher is Gianluca Altomani and the license is GPL-3.0-only. Distribution targets Android only, and the application is not useful in isolation: an aria2 instance and its RPC endpoint have to exist before there is anything to connect to.
