About this application
Apod MD is an Android reader for NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day, the long-running feed that publishes one image or video each day together with a short explanatory text. The application retrieves those daily entries and renders them using Material Design conventions, so browsing follows the layout and navigation patterns of other Android apps rather than the plain page layout of the original site.
The scope is deliberately narrow. This is a client for a single public feed, not a general image browser or a wallpaper manager. Dates, media and captions come from NASA's own publication schedule, so what appears on a given day matches what has been posted upstream, and the app needs a network connection and the availability of that service to show anything new.
Apod MD is published by Javier Villalba under the MIT licence, which permits reuse and redistribution with attribution and few further conditions. Builds target Android; no desktop or other mobile platform is listed.
