About this application
APK Explorer & Editor opens Android application packages and shows what is inside them. It lists the entries of an APK archive so the files that make up an application can be inspected on the device itself, and it allows editing of the contents it is able to read. No desktop toolchain is involved; the browsing and editing happen in the app.
The second function is installation. Alongside single-file APKs, it handles split APKs and app bundles, the multi-file format Android uses when an application ships separate parts for language, screen density, or CPU architecture. The pieces that belong to one application are selected together and passed to the system installer as a single operation.
This is an Android-only utility, with no desktop counterpart. What it can read and write depends on what the platform version permits an ordinary application to do, so behaviour differs across Android releases. The code is published by sunilpaulmathew under GPL-3.0-or-later.
