About this application
APatch is a patching tool for Android that works at the kernel level as well as on the wider system. Rather than limiting changes to userspace, it modifies the running kernel image so that privileged behaviour and system components can be altered from below the Android framework. This places it in the same category as root and system-modification tooling, where the aim is to gain control over parts of the platform that the stock firmware keeps closed.
Because the target is the kernel and system, use requires an unlocked device and a willingness to work with firmware-level changes. Anything at this layer can leave a device unable to boot, may interfere with integrity checks used by banking and DRM applications, and generally voids the assumptions the vendor firmware makes about itself. Recovery from a bad patch usually means reflashing.
