About this application
AnyMemo is a flashcard study application for Android. Learning material is organised into decks of two-sided cards, a prompt on one face and the answer on the other, which are then worked through in review sessions on the phone. The format suits material that breaks down into discrete question-and-answer pairs: vocabulary in a foreign language, terminology, dates, formulas, or anything else where recall is the goal rather than reading comprehension.
Because the whole study loop runs on a handheld device, sessions tend to be short and frequent, fitted into the gaps of a day rather than scheduled at a desk. AnyMemo is licensed under GPL-2.0-only, a copyleft licence: derived versions must be distributed under the same terms, and the source remains available to anyone who receives the application. Android is the only listed platform, so decks are studied on a phone or tablet and there is no companion desktop client for building or reviewing material on a larger screen.
