public transport departure times in the city of Vienna
AmSprung is an Android application that shows departure times for public transport in Vienna. It is built around a single task: telling the user when the next tram, bus, underground train, or suburban train is expected to leave from a given stop, so that the information can be read on a phone screen while walking to the platform.
Because the application is tied to one city's transport network, it is of practical use only to people travelling within Vienna. Departure information for stops outside that network is outside its scope, and the app is not a general-purpose journey planner or ticketing tool.
The project is published by Michael Pöhn under the GNU General Public License, version 3 or later, which means the source code may be studied, modified, and redistributed under the terms of that licence. It is distributed for Android only; there is no desktop or iOS edition.
