About this application

Always On Display Toggle adds a tile to the Android quick settings panel that switches the system always-on display feature on and off. Instead of navigating through the settings hierarchy each time, the user pulls down the notification shade and taps the tile, which makes it practical to turn the feature off to conserve battery and back on when the phone is idle on a stand.

The application is narrow in scope: it controls an existing Android capability rather than drawing its own clock or lock screen, so a device that does not provide an always-on display has nothing for the tile to switch. It runs on Android only and depends on quick settings tile support in the installed Android version. Alberto Pedron publishes it under the MIT license, allowing the source to be reused and adapted with minimal restrictions.
