FreeRDP is a free remote desktop protocol client
aFreeRDP is the Android client of the FreeRDP project, an implementation of the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) used by Windows and by RDP-compatible servers. It connects to a remote machine over a network and presents that machine's desktop on the phone or tablet, forwarding touch input and keyboard entry to the remote session so that applications run on the server rather than on the handset.
Typical use is reaching a desktop workstation, a virtual machine or a terminal server from a mobile device. Connection details — host address, port, credentials and display settings — are entered per session and stored as bookmarks for reuse. As an RDP client, it depends on a server that speaks the protocol; it cannot connect to machines exposing only VNC, SSH or other remote-access systems.
The build is for Android; FreeRDP's desktop clients are separate programs from the same project. The code is available under the Apache-2.0 licence.
