À propos de cette application
Groestlcoin Core is a full node implementation for the Groestlcoin peer-to-peer network. It downloads the block chain and validates blocks and transactions against the network's consensus rules on the local machine, instead of asking a remote server for that judgement, and it relays the results onward to other peers. The same program includes a wallet, which holds keys, derives receiving addresses and assembles outgoing transactions, and a graphical interface for those wallet and node functions.
Because validation is done locally, the practical costs are the ones common to any full node: storage for the chain data, bandwidth for relaying, and the time taken by the initial synchronisation before the node is caught up with the network tip. Anyone who only needs to send and receive occasional payments may find a lighter client more proportionate; the reason to run this one is independent verification and participation in relaying.
The build described here is packaged for Linux, so users of other operating systems will need to look elsewhere. It is published by the Groestlcoin Core project under the MIT license.
