Distraction-free text editor for Markdown

ghostwriter is a Markdown editor from the KDE community built for drafting rather than layout. The window opens on the text and little else; panels are shown when wanted and hidden again.
Typing aids stay close to the source. Markdown syntax is highlighted in place instead of being replaced by rendered output, a live HTML preview can be opened alongside, and the preview's style comes from a CSS file you supply. Focus mode dims everything except the line, sentence or paragraph being written. Hemingway mode disables the backspace and delete keys, on the theory that drafting and editing are separate jobs. A statistics pane tracks word counts, reading time and readability measures.
An outline pane navigates by heading, and themes control the editor's own colours separately from the preview's. Export is handed to an external processor — Pandoc, MultiMarkdown or cmark among them — which must be installed separately, and the available output formats follow from whichever one is used.
