À propos de cette application
F3D is a desktop viewer for three-dimensional model files. Its scope is deliberately narrow: it opens a model and displays it, with camera controls for orbiting, panning and zooming, rather than offering the mesh editing, sculpting or animation facilities of an authoring package. The interface stays close to the rendering area itself.
The project describes the program as fast and minimalist, which is a fair summary of its intended use. It suits tasks such as inspecting geometry, confirming that an exported file looks the way it should, or looking through a set of models one after another. For modelling work proper, a separate application is still required.
Development is carried out under the F3D-APP Foundation, and the code is released under the BSD-3-Clause licence, a permissive arrangement that allows reuse in both open and proprietary projects provided the copyright notice is retained. This entry covers the Linux build.
