eSpeak

eSpeak is an Android text-to-speech engine based on the eSpeak speech synthesis project. It provides generated speech for apps that use the Android text-to-speech system, so written text can be read aloud through the device’s speech output settings. Its role is not to display documents or manage media, but to supply voices and pronunciation through the platform service used by other applications.

Because it is an engine, the user normally works with it through Android’s language and input or accessibility settings, and through apps that request spoken output. It is intended for Android devices and is distributed under the GPL-3.0-or-later license.
