Points clés
- Notes organised as a tree of nodes, each node a document with children
- Rich text nodes with tables, images and attachments, or syntax-highlighted code nodes
- One file per tree, stored as XML or SQLite, with a password-protected encrypted variant
- Export to HTML, plain text, PDF or another CherryTree file, per branch or whole tree
À propos de cette application
CherryTree keeps notes in a tree. Each node is a document of its own and can hold child nodes, so an outline of topics and the text under them live in the same structure. The tree pane sits on the left and the editor fills the rest of the window.
A node is either rich text or code. Rich text nodes take bold, colours, alignment, lists, tables, images, links to files, folders, web addresses and other nodes, plus embedded attachments. Code nodes are syntax highlighted for a language chosen per node, which is convenient for keeping snippets next to prose. Anchors and links let one part of the tree point at another.
The whole tree is one document on disk, stored as XML or as a SQLite database, each with an optional password-protected variant that keeps the contents encrypted. Search runs over node names, node contents or both. Export produces HTML, plain text, PDF or another CherryTree document, for the whole tree or a selected branch.
