Multi-track video editor built on the MLT framework

Kdenlive is a non-linear video editor with an unlimited number of video and audio tracks. It is built on the MLT framework and uses FFmpeg for decoding, so the range of formats it accepts is wide and mixing different sources on one timeline is normal rather than exceptional.
The editing model is conventional and quick to learn: clips are trimmed on the timeline, effects and transitions are dragged onto them, and keyframes animate parameters over time. Proxy editing makes 4K footage workable on modest hardware by cutting with lower resolution copies and rendering from the originals. There are also configurable keyboard shortcuts, automatic backup of project files, and an audio and video scope set for checking levels.
Kdenlive is developed inside the KDE community. Builds are published for Linux, Windows and macOS, including an AppImage that runs without installation.
