Ipe

Ipe is an extensible drawing editor primarily designed for creating figures in PDF format, whether as standalone documents or for inclusion in LaTeX papers. The application produces vector graphics containing text and mathematical symbols rendered directly through an external TeX process. Drawings are built using basic geometric primitives such as splines, polygons, and text boxes, with precise alignment controls and snapping options available during creation. Users can extend the functionality of the editor by writing scripts in the Lua programming language. The software runs on Linux operating systems and processes input files using an XML-based internal format.
