Acerca de esta aplicación

Gramps is a desktop program for recording and studying family history. It keeps genealogical information in a structured database of people, families, events, places, and the sources and citations that support each statement, and it links those records to one another so that a person's parents, spouses, children, dates and supporting documents can be examined as a connected whole rather than as isolated notes.

The same data is presented through several views: lists of individuals, relationship and pedigree layouts, and editors for a single record at a time. On top of the stored material the program provides reporting and analysis — generated charts and narrative accounts, filters for selecting a subset of records, and tools for reviewing the collection for gaps or contradictions — which is the part aimed at active research rather than plain data entry.

This entry covers the Linux build; the publisher is the Gramps Development Team and the stated license is GPL-2.0-or-later. Work is stored locally, so backing up and moving a family tree between machines is the user's own responsibility.
