FluffyChat

FluffyChat is a client for the Matrix protocol, written in Flutter and built for desktop and mobile from a single codebase. Like other Matrix clients it connects to a homeserver chosen by the user — a public one or a self-hosted instance — and can reach people whose accounts live on different homeservers.

It covers the parts of the protocol most people use day to day: direct and group rooms, spaces for grouping rooms together, replies and reactions, image and file sharing, read receipts, and end-to-end encryption with cross-signing, so a newly added device is confirmed from one that is already trusted. Several accounts can be signed in at once and switched between without signing out.

The interface is deliberately compact and leans on rounded, playful styling rather than on exposing every protocol detail. That makes it straightforward to hand to somebody new to Matrix, but the administrative corners of the protocol are less accessible here than in clients aimed at people who run homeservers.
