Über diese Anwendung
HTMLDOC converts HTML source files into paginated output, chiefly PostScript and PDF. It reads one or more HTML documents, resolves the images and links they reference, and lays the result out as fixed pages rather than a scrolling document. Input can be treated either as a single continuous report or as a structured book whose chapters come from separate files.
Layout control covers page size and margins, running headers and footers, a generated table of contents, page numbering, and PDF options such as bookmarks. The program can be driven interactively through its graphical interface or non-interactively from the command line, which makes it usable as one step inside build scripts and server-side report generation.
The converter targets a limited, older HTML vocabulary with only partial stylesheet handling, so pages written around modern CSS layout generally need simplification before conversion. This entry describes the Linux build, distributed by Michael R Sweet under the GPL-2.0-only license.
