High-performance code editor

Zed is a code editor written in Rust with its own GPU-rendered user interface, built by the team that previously made Atom. The stated goal is a short delay between keystroke and character, and much of the design follows from it: rendering, syntax parsing and language-server traffic are kept off the typing path.
Syntax highlighting and structural selection come from Tree-sitter grammars, while language intelligence — completion, diagnostics, formatting, go-to-definition, renaming — comes from Language Server Protocol servers that Zed downloads and manages for the languages it knows. Extensions add further languages, themes and servers. There is a multi-buffer view that gathers project-wide search results into one editable surface, an integrated terminal, a file finder, Git status in the gutter with a diff view, and a vim mode.
Collaboration is part of the editor rather than a plugin: several people can open a shared project, follow each other's cursors and talk over voice, though that relies on the vendor's hosted service and an account. Official builds exist for macOS and Linux.
